High Contrast Black & White Glamour Shoot with Vanessa Luis
I’ll tell you, 2020 has been a tough year for this Toronto glamour photographer. Social distancing and spending most days in isolation hasn’t exactly been inspiring, so it was an absolute pleasure to reconnect with Vanessa Luis for a creative shoot. Vanessa is soooooooo much fun to work with on so many levels, she has a genuinely positive personality and a quirky sense of humor that always makes the shoot feel relaxed and full of energy.
It also felt great to get creative with the camera again. It was like saying hello to an old friend. I haven’t been shooting nearly as much this year, so getting back into the studio reminded me why I love being a photographer. This is the first set from our shoot, where I wanted to create a bold high-contrast black and white glamour look featuring black lingerie styling. I wanted to focus on the mood and the feel in the images and capture Vanessa’s unique personality.

To give the images a more modern edge, I added some subtle glitch effects around the edges before converting to black and white. It’s a look I’ve been experimenting with lately, and I think it really adds a unique vibe to the photos. As a Toronto glamour photographer, I’m always exploring different styles to create striking visuals that stand out on social media.
