20,000 Subscribers with no growth

20,000 YouTube Subscribers Thank You!

I just wanted to take a moment to say a genuine thank you. Hitting 20,000 subscribers is incredible, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who’s been part of this channel. Your views and support means more to me than I can put into words.

You’ve probably noticed I haven’t uploaded in a little while. The reality is that YouTube ad revenue has been stuck around $200/month for a long time now, which unfortunately isn’t enough to sustain or motivate regular content creation. You’d think with more subscribers, views would also be higher but analytics appear to show a different story. It clearly appears that my channel has been capped at 2000 views per day since 2023! It spikes up when I post a new video but then goes back to the average, there is no growth at all. The good news is it’s been a consistent 2000 views per day average for 3 years. YAY! You want to know something crazy, I’ve only uploaded 1 video in three months and my views have not changed. Still averaging 2k views per day. But the bad news in all this is I can’t grow the channel and that has been extremely frustrating. I’ve had to shift my focus toward my real life photography business to cover the cost of living and build up some savings again so I can make another charge on YouTube.

To put my frustration into perspective let me paint it like this. I started averaging 2000 views a day in 2023 and that is also the year I reached 10,000 subscribers. I’m now at 20,000 subscribers and I’m still getting the same average daily views. How is that possible? I’m not crazy right? You see it too? I mean at the very least there should be a wave pattern with some months having more views than others. I produce good content, I get a lot of positive feedback in the comments. I plan thumbnails and titles. My content is ad friendly. I have no copyright strikes. I have no idea why it feels like my channel’s growth has been capped. Why am I getting consistent views with no growth? It really makes no sense.

That said, I’m not stepping away from YouTube just taking a bit of time to regroup and plan how to grow the channel in 2026. To say it’s been a frustrating few years is an understatement. I feel like i’ve been spinning my wheels and not going anywhere.

Here are a few ideas I’ve been considering:

More Practical Photography Content

I want to create videos that dive deeper into real photoshoots — lighting setups, working with models, and sharing hands-on knowledge that’s actually useful.

Long-Form Content in a Members Area

Since YouTube prefers shorter videos, I’ve been thinking about building a membership section for the longer, more detailed behind-the-scenes videos — like full, 1-hour photoshoot sessions from start to finish.

Live Photoshoot Streams

I’m also exploring the idea of live streaming photoshoots so members can ask questions in real time and get a closer look at my process.

These are just thoughts for now, but the goal is to eventually make YouTube a full-time part of my work. And at $200/month, there’s definitely room to grow — so I’m taking this time to rethink, refresh, and come back stronger.

Thank you again for being here and supporting what I do. It truly means a lot. More content is on the way.
